Amazon cost vs. Mozy flat fee

Postby grwriter » Sat Oct 31, 2009 8:50 pm

As a home PC user, I want to make sure I understand the correct price that Amazon charges for its back-up service vs. other online backup services like Mozy.

Currently, I back up 75GB of data -- actually, I could upload an unlimited amount of data -- with Mozy for a flat $4.95 per month. If I upload that same 75GB of data to Amazon, and if I understand the pricing correctly, it would cost me $11.25 per month.

Is my math correct? (I'm not being sarcastic, as I really am bad with math; I simply multiplied 75 x 15 U.S. cents per gigabyte.)

If my math is correct, are there any advantages to using Amazon for an extra $6 per month that I'm missing?

Thanks,

Todd

Yes, your math is correct. We aren't here to promote Amazon over some other services. We simply provide functionality for using the most trusted and reliable AmazonS3 services for backup purposes. I guess it's a matter of personal preferences whom to trust and why :) Thanks.
