Think of a feature that S3 BackupSystem lacks? Suggest it here!

Feature wish list

These would be some of the features I would like to see.

Important
Email notification of backup results.
Job history view (Include backup time, space used etc...) Or maybe just a way to store it in SQL, MySql or even XML so we could build our own reporting methods.

Would just be nice
Ability to compress all files to single zip file before uploading to S3.
Ability to flatten the directory structure in the S3 backup location.
Comparison of files currently on S3 vs current local backup directory.
Estimation of S3 costs from current backup setup.

Thank you, noted.

You can currently set the number of log files the program will store for each of the backup sets in Backup Set Settings. It's also possible to view the latest log file from within the program by clicking on Tools->View Last log. The rest of the log files are stored in C:\Users\Windows_Username\AppData\Roaming\S3 BackupSystem\Logs.

You should go to the backup set options, click on the Compression tab and enable the "enable compression of files" checkbox.

Noted, thanks.

The program automatically does that upon backup and/or restore. Would you prefer to have some sort of an advanced option? If yes, please elaborate more.

Also noted.

Thanks very much for your thoughts and suggestions!
